Anne enters with arms full of bottles and glasses. Tom rushes to help, but is restrained by a look from Norman. She mentions overhearing an dining room. Anne refuses to pour the wine, since she had to fetch it, so Tom pours. Anne and Tom have parsnip, and Norman has dandilion, which is quite strong. Anne and Norman taunt Tom by asking him how he likes the wine. He replies, "Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...." Norman and Anne then say "Ummmmmmmmmmmm..." whenever asked a question, laughing at Tom, who doesn't realize he's being made fun of. Tom is enjoying the company and suggests that the three of them go on a trip together. This breaks Anne, who starts screaming at Tom about how stupid he is. Suddenly, a loud clank is heard from the dining room.
