What you should know for the October 3 quiz:
- Phonetic descriptions and the corresponding IPA symbols
- The vocal tract (i.e. labelling parts)
- Transcription of words into IPA
- Possibly some phonology (phonemes/allomorphs)

There is a practice list of IPA words. If you want to test yourself first, the words in the document are: George, plastic, question, singer, buckles, loud, bulls, calculate, reassure, tongue-tied, stone, Tuesday, laboring, coiled, bath, bathe, Microsoft, prestige, challenge, highway.
