Point Group Exercises

These exercises pertain to the symmetry tutorial on the reciprocal net website.

1. Go through the tutorial in detail.
2. Make handwritten notes of the major concepts you encounter in the tutorial; these notes are to be handed in to your TA.
3. When you get to the part of the tutorial that describes a procedure for assigning molecules to point groups, you have the option to download a flow chart illustrating the procedure. Print out this chart, study it, and hand it in with your notes.
4. Make a sketch of each molecule in the tutorial section on "Point Groups, Summary Exercises" and use the flow chart to aid you in assigning each one to its proper point group.
