- Please be sure to check the revised syllabus
for the last two weeks of the term.
- (04/21/02: 6:15pm) Please take note of
the two algibraic mistakes in Problem
9.1(a) and Problem
9.3(c).
- (04/19/02) The second quiz will be held
in class (34-101) on Tuesday, April 23. The quiz will emphasize
material from Problem Set 6-9. The quiz is closed book. No calculators
or cheat sheets are allowed. You will be provided the Basic Equations
sheet handed out in lecture.
- (04/19/02) The tutorials will run as scheduled
this week. Students with Tuesday tutorials should feel free to
attend any of the Monday tutorials.
- (04/19/02) Extra office hours for
students who need help before the quiz have been scheduled on

- (04/08/02) Please note a correction for
the figures of Problem 8.1 and Problem 8.3. The
length of the transmission line in each case should be 3m insteead
of 3cm. Also, the units for the resistors should be ohms (not
Watts). The revised
version is now posted.
- (03/18/02) The due date for Problem Set
6 has been extended. Problem Set 6 is now due in recitation on
Friday, March 22. If you wish to hand it in earlier, please make
an arrangement with your TA or slide it under the TA Office (24-317).
- (03/14/02) The Tutorials will run as scheduled
this week. Extra office hours have been scheduled on Monday from
6pm-8pm in 24-317 for students who have questions regarding the
material on the quiz.

Practice Problems for Quiz 1 have been posted.
- (03/14/02) The first quiz will be held
in class (34-101) on Tuesday, March 19. The quiz will cover material
from the beginning of the term through Problem Set 5. The quiz
is closed book. No calculators or cheat sheets are allowed. You
will be provided the Basic Equations sheet handed out in lecture.

- (03/04/02) Be sure to check the New

- (03/04/02) Please note that there was
some confusion in reading the figure for Problem 4.1(c).
The figure makes it seem as though the array is made up of 8 hertzian
dipoles. The figure, however, should be interpreted as an array
of n hertzian dipoles spaced equally over the distance L.
- ***(2/24/02) It appears that due to a
printing mistake, there is no 3.2(a) on the copy of the problem
set handed out in lecture last thursday. Also, please change
1-Hz in 3.2(b) to 1-MHz. Sorry guys! The corrected
version of Problem Set 3 with 3.2(a) is now available under
the Problem Sets section. Once again, sorry for the confusion.***

- (2/15/02) The Tutorial
Schedule is now available. If you have not been assigned a
tutorial or would like to change the time due to an unavoidable
conflict, please e-mail saumil@mit.edu
as soon as possible.
- (2/15/02) The Monday tutorial schedule
will run on Tuesday, February 19. Students who normally have tutorials
on Tuesday should attend any Monday section that fits their schedule.
- (2/8/02) The Tutorial
Assignments are now available. Tutorials will meet starting
Monday February 11. If you have not been assigned a tutorial or
would like to change the time due to an unavoidable conflict,
