This assignment is due at 5:00pm on February 24th and will be graded by your TA and your CI instructor. Submit your write-up via our submission site, not via Gradescope.

The first critique asks you to evaluate and assess DNS. The associated worksheet walks you through the process of analyzing the system described lecture and in the textbook.

We are intentionally releasing this assignment before you have learned about DNS; that's because we wanted you to have the worksheet available as you did the reading (if you've done the reading without the worksheet, no problem! The worksheet should go quickly). In the second tutorial, you will be getting more explicit direction on how to write the critique document.

After filling in the worksheet, use the following guidelines to organize your analysis into a 2-3 page critique of DNS. Your audience is a community of peers who have not read the paper.

Before beginning to write, think about how you might organize your critique. You might assess each module in turn, or each design goal. You might order design goals by importance (e. g. most to least important) or by strength (strongest to weakest—or the reverse!) Use your introduction to forecast and your conclusion to recap.

The critique should be approximately 750-900 words. You can also view the rubric to get a sense of how we'll grade your writing (your TA will also be grading this assignment, for technical content).

Submit your write-up using our submission site (not Gradescope). Again, this assignment is due at 5:00pm on February 24th, not 11:59pm.
