Welcome to 6.041/6.431! This ambitious subject is concerned with the nature, formulation, and analysis of probabilistic situations. No previous experience with probability is assumed.
Undergraduates should register for 6.041. Graduate students should register for 6.431. Graduate (G) credit is given for 6.431, which includes full participation in 6.041 and the completion of some additional advanced homework problems.
The course closely follows the textbook, Introduction to Probability written by Professor Dimitri P. Bertsekas and Professor John N. Tsitsiklis. It can be purchased at Quantum Books, located near Kendall Square.
The class has lectures Monday and Wednesday, 12-1, in room 34-101.
