Abstract |
|||
A device to make people
more familiar with their surroundings. The operation consists of two
modes. In the first mode, the position of the device will be indicated
on a map showing the surrounding area. When the device is pointed at
a building and the information button is pressed, information about
the indicated building will be displayed. The second mode is a tour
guide mode. In this mode, the position will be displayed as before,
but whenever the device is within a specified radius from a building,
the information about the building will be displayed. The position
of the device will be determined with a GPS module and the orientation
with a compass module. This data is decoded and compared to a shared
memory network, determining what is at that position. All the information
will be displayed on a VGA monitor.
