Each year, the 6.270 contest table and objectives are different. Listed below are all of the contests since 6.270's inaguration in 1987. Where available, we have linked each contest title to more information about that contest including schematics of the table, pictures and press coverage of the contest, and starting in 1999, a web page for each competing robot.

2007 Snakes on a Plane - Since Sam J won't be returning for the second movie, you'll have to build a robot to take his place!

2006 Broom Club - An underground club is formed to build robots to clean up the corridors of MIT.

2005 Attack of the Drones - Robots vote on a new leader for the Gedi Knights

2004 Killian Chaos - Robots are built to bring freshman back to various independent living groups.

2003 Montezuma's Revenge - Robots save ancient Mayan society from angry dieties.

2002 Chicken - Robots save society from destruction by noxious chicken eggs.

2001 Masters of the Universe - Robots battle galaxy by galaxy for control of the Universe.

2000 Bots In Blue - Robo-CPs compete against each other to collect unwanted hackers and throw them in the brig.

1999 Masters of the Universe - Robots battle galaxy by galaxy for control of the Universe.

1998 RoboGolf - Robotic golfers compete to become champion of a post-apocalyptic world.

1997 RoboRats - Rats scurry about to collect food from a mound of garbage.

1996 RoboAnt or Artificial Entomology - Rival ant colonies compete in an attempt to stockpile food cubes to survive the long winter.

1995 RoboMiners - Autonomous mining robots compete on the distant planet of Cerebus to collect ore and unobtainium.

1994 RoboRaiders - Robot pirates plunder and pillage as they try to capture treasure chests and collect bottles of pirate punch.

1993 RoboKnights - Robots quest for foam blocks scattered on either side of a drawbridge.

1992 RoboCup - Robots compete to score as many goals as possible in this high-tech soccer match.

1991 RoboPong - Robots attempt to move balls to their opponent's side.

1990 RoboPuck - Three robots compete at a time to gain control of a hockey puck located at the center of the table.

1989 King of the Mountain - In the first physical contest, robots fight for control of the top of the mountain.

1988 XTank - Simulated robots navigate a maze-like playing field trying to destroy their opponents.

1987 Battle of the C-Robots - The first 6.270 contest. Simulated robots try to destroy each other on a cyberspace battlefield.
