Course Description

Academic Year 2008-09: Fall 2008

Independent experimental study under the direction of a member of the Biology Department faculty. Allows students with a strong interest in independent research to fulfill the project laboratory requirement for the Biology Department Program in the context of a research laboratory at MIT. The research should be a continuation of a previous project.

Written and oral presentation of the research results are required. Journal club discussions are used to help students evaluate and write scientific papers. Instruction and practice in written and oral communication is provided.

Permission of the faculty research supervisor and the Biology Education Office must be obtained in advance.

Credit cannot also be received for 7.19.
