Tutor Meetings
OPTIONAL tutoring sessions will be available throughout the week.
Tutors assist students in working through problems that they are
finding challenging. A maximum of 3 people may sign up (via our
course web page, on a first come, first served basis) for any one hour
session. The attendees in any given week will be given preference for
the same session in the following week.
IAP Schedule
Classes resume Monday January FOURTH 2010 and continue until Friday January 22nd. During IAP there will lectures Monday, Wednesday and Friday and laboratories Tuesday and Thursday. Recitations will meet twice per week.
Exams, Homework and Grading
There will be four one-hour exams and a three-hour final:
Exam #1 --Tuesday, 29 September 7:30pm (Walker Memorial 50-340)
Exam #2 -- Tuesday, 03 November 7:30pm (Walker Memorial 50-340)
Exam #3 -- Tuesday, 27 November 7:30pm (Walker Memorial 50-340)
Exam #4 -- Wednesday, 06 January 9:00am (in class)
Final -- Monday 25 January 9:00am (Walker Memorial 50-340)
Homework assignments will be posted on the course web page and will usually be due at 9 am
on Friday.
Mastering Physics will be assigned most weeks, typically due Sunday evening at 11:59pm.

Policy on Cooperation, Outside Help, and Grades
Homework: You are strongly encouraged to work with other students to discuss the assignments.
You can also ask any questions of your recitation instructor or tutor. However, we insist that
you write up your solutions by yourself.
Mastering Physics: You must complete the computer assignments on your own, without any
direct assistance. You are allowed to ask for hints or suggestions off-line if you get stuck on a
particular problem but you are not allowed to have anyone else working with you at the
computer.
Exams: No outside notes, books, or assistance of any kind is allowed during exams.
