Did You Miss the 8.01 Final Exam?

If you missed the 8.01 final exam, you received a letter grade "O" for the course and this is to explain your options.

Course Policy

This is the 8.01 policy to deal with a missing final examination. It was decided, consistent with Institute policies, by the 8.01 section instructors. We hoped no one would find themselves in that situation and did not plan to have a conflict exam. However unavoidable situations do sometimes arise, and this is what we have done in the past.

As mentioned above, you were given the letter grade "O" for the course. This means you were absent for the final exam. A dean in Student Support Services (5-104, 253-4861) can excuse the absence upon being given a satisfactory explanation. If your absence has been excused, you should make specific arrangements with the course administrator Professor Litster to handle the absence. We will ask you to take a conflict version of the final exam late in IAP and your course grade will be determined from that as if you had taken the regular final exam.

Letter grades "O" that are not excused will become letter grades "F" and you will fail 8.01.
