Use a recent version of Netscape on a Mac or Athena terminal and IE on
a PC. Set the screen resolution to
Go to the CyberTutor Home page; click the ``New User'' button underneath the login area.
Fill in all of the required fields (marked with an asterix) on this page
to register yourself to use CyberTutor. Note that you will need to WRITE DOWN
AND REMEMBER your case-sensitive user name and password (it can be sent
to your e-mail address if you forget).
If the above procedure fails to get you straightened out (i.e., if
CyberTutor continually refuses
to log you in after you check your case-sensitive name and password) reregister
with a slightly different user name and password, using your correct name
and student I.D. number, and we will add your new scores to your old ones
in the final grades reckoning.
You will need to use the Academic Class Code MIT801XF01 and put your Student ID# in the student ID field. Leave the access code blank. Your name and scores will then automatically be entered in the gradebook.
The remaining login information will be used solely for studying correlations so that we can, in later versions, make a skill profile for you which will help decide which new problem should help you the most.
Press ``Submit''.
Go to ``Assignment List'' on the left navigation bar, then click on the Introductory assignment.
These will be held from 4PM to 7PM on Mondays, starting
Dr. David Kokorowski will be on-line from 7PM to 9PM on Sunday and Tuesday nights before CyberTutor assignments are due. The best way to contact him is to click COMMENT on the navigation bar (on the left in CyberTutor). This will get your question categorized (e.g., about the physics, comment on the problem, about the grading of your problems). He will respond by e-mail.
If you can't log in (even with a new user name and password), or have some other trouble then e-mail davidk@mit.edu or am@adammorton.com If you have problems with CyberTutor platform (as distinguished from the physics) you should first send a comment, indicating it's a bug when submitting it.
