Information on Hour Test #2



When & Where:

The second Hour Test will be held on Wednesday, March 21 during regular 8.02 lecture hours. For students whose last names begins with: Please take the test at your assigned lecture hour.


Material Covered:

The second hour test will cover:
  1. Problem assignments 5 and 6 (nothing on dielectrics):
    • Ohm's law and energy losses
    • Kirchhoff's rules
    • RC Circuit
    • Magnetic force on a charge
    • Magnetic force on a current element
    • Ampere's law
    • Solenoids
    • Biot Savart law.
    There is a lot of material here; you must do some serious studying in order to master the broad concepts as well as the details necessary for problem solving.
  2. Material from lecture demonstrations.
  3. This test will emphasize the analytical type of problem found in the Handout #4. However, brief concept-type questions may be included.

There are no make-up exams.
