Mathematical Methods for aspiring physicists
IAP 2021
Guide to self-study
- The posted material consists of lecture notes, associated video-taped lectures, exercises, and a Mathematical Notebook.
- The best starting point is likely the Outline which lists the topics covered in the lectures, and also acts as an Table of Contents
- Each lecture is parsed into sections consisting of lecture notes and corresponding videos
- The automatically recorded videos are from 4 cameras
- Unfortunately the embedded viewer does not necessarily employ the best perspective amongst the 4
- The best way to view the videos is to open them in a second browser window, use the arrow at the bottom to go to the full Panopto viewer that enables switching between the different videos
- There are exercises (of varying levels of difficulty) at the end of each lecture. At this time we do not provide solutions to these problems.
- There is also a Mathemaca Notebook that starts with a brief introduction, and then provides numerical exercises related to the covered material.
This is the first iteration
of this material, and as such likely to leave much room for improvement.
