While it is widely conceded that mathematics is essential to the presentation of physics, a number of the world's most famous astrophysicists have nonetheless written non-mathematical books for the general public. We shall read and discuss a number of these. Participants will be expected to read 3 books over the course of the fall semester and, in teams of four, to lead discussions of their contents.
