1. For Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, know the following:
  a) What the classic symptoms are
b) What parts of the basal ganglia degenerate in the disease
c) What effect this degeneration has on the output of the basal ganglia
d) How these effects may produce the typical symptoms
 
2. Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases are usually thought of as motor system diseases, but there is evidence that they disrupt cognitive function as well.  What ‘cognitive’ symptoms have been described for these diseases?  What may cause these cognitive symptoms?

3. What are the symptoms of progressive supranuclear palsy?  Compare and contrast to Parkinson’s disease.
 
4. What evidence is there to suggest the cerebellum might contribute to cognitive functions?  Evaluate this evidence.
