Encouraging Toxics
Use Reduction in Academic Laboratories: Project Team Members
The following individuals served as investigators on the EPA-funded
project “Encouraging Toxics Use Reduction in Academic Laboratories”.
The project was a three-year effort, spanning from Fall 2003 through
the Fall 2006, and utilizing various partnerships between the MIT
Faculty, Administration, industry, and non-government organizations
(NGOs) to identify chemical use practices, technical barriers, and
incentives for change. The project culminated in the development
of a Green
Chemical Alternatives Wizard, a web-based interactive tool that
enables researchers to make more environmentally benign and less
hazardous chemical purchasing choices.
