Student Clubs and Teams
The Center supports student clubs and teams by providing work space, funding, administrative support, and a shop manager to help students navigate the challenges that come with running a competitive team. The MIT Solar Electric Vehicle Team, Formula SAE, the Robotic Futbol Club, the Marine Robotics Team, and others partner with corporations such as Ford, BMW, 3M, and Konica to secure funding and, in some cases, borrow their state of the art facilities to refine their invention. Students gain valuable experience running a business, recruiting members, and soliciting donations while engineering, for instance, a car that can travel over 1,800 miles across the Australian outback on solar power alone.
