The French are concerned more with communication skills and
treating the patient. Whereas Americans expressed mainly concern
for the doctors ability and his/her qualities as a person. For
the most part, both countries are concerned with the competence
and qualities of the doctor. One difference was two comments,
on the French side, concerning money. A good doctor isn't concerned
with money. I think many Americans feel that a good doctor shouldn't
be concerned with money, but that doesn't affect their ability,
the most important aspect.
What do you mean by "qui ne fait pas d'argent sur le dos
des patients."? Do you mean that a doctor shouldn't make
money behind the patient's back? How does your medical system
work ... isn't it national healthcare?
Salut Megan. A mon avis, certains docteurs ne donnent pas toujours
les conseils qu'il faudrait. Il est souvent utile de faire recours
à plusieurs médecins car les avis sont presque toujours
différents. Faut-il opérer ou pas? Dans certains
cas, certains vont répondre oui alors que l'opération
n'est pas toujours la meilleure solution...
