transition

Photographs in this section depict a transitional movement, which is the gentrification of Charlestown. By renovating old houses, the old community gradually has been replaced by new people. The Charlestown has become a place for the young professionals and many of the older residents have moved out for a more affordable place. While I was visiting this site for the last three months, I had realized that there isn't anyone in the neighborhood during daytime. I seldom saw people on the street while I was taking pictures. For a long time, it was a mystery to me whether or not people actually live here. Because the houses were under renovation, I got the impression that many of the residents may have not yet moved in, or may be at work during the daytime coming home only at night.
