"The Fens Pastorale": Urban Landscape in Five Movements

Five movements in a place that, in a little more than a century, have experienced changes that show different ways of organizing, living, constructing, and relating with nature. The result is a model of urban life and relation with nature.

In the first four movements I will show each of the forces that shaped this place: the power of the institutions, the forces of nature translated into a landscape design, the human component, and the conflicts that affected the place for the transformation of the city. In the fifth movement I will show how all those forces are simultaneously acting today and how they are projecting their music towards the twenty-first century.
