Overview

The Department Inflation Rates function displays a departmental salary inflation rate table for all Payroll categories, except 1008 (Undergraduate Students). You may also display a comparison between your Departmental Salary Inflation Rates (by category) and MIT standard inflation rates.

Note

If you have problems accessing any department information for which you should have authorization, contact your LDS Support Representative.

Display Department Inflation Rate Data

The salary inflation rate function displays or prints a departmental report by Payroll category. Also, a report can be generated comparing, by category, your Department's Salary Inflation Rates with MIT's standard inflation rates.

Display department inflation rates table
To display a departmental salary inflation rate table, use the following navigation path or type the transaction code from any screen in SAP:

Transaction Code:

/nzlt2

1. Enter your LDS organization number and click on the Enter button button to access the "Display Inflation Rates: Department XXXXXXXX" screen.

2. To make changes, click on the Display -> Change button to switch to the change screen. See Change Department Inflation Rates Table to proceed with changing the rates.

 

Generate a customized department inflation rate report
1. Click on the Inflation Rates button to access a data selection dialog box that allows you to customize the information to be produced in the report.

Payroll Category
Leave the default field entries unchanged if you want to see all the Payroll categories. However, you can select a different subset of categories for the report.

Calendar Year
You may leave the default entry (the current calendar year) if you wish, or set your own range of years.

2. Click on the Continue button to display the report (see below).

3. Click on the Print button button to print a copy of this report.

4. Click on the Back button button once to return to the Display Inflation Rates screen showing the department's inflation rate information.

Generate inflation rate comparison report
1. To run the comparison report, click on the Compare Standard Rate button found on the tool bar to access the dialog box.

2. Enter the desired beginning and ending years for this report in the calendar year boxes.

3. Click on the Continue button to display your report (see below).

4. Click on the Print button button to print a copy of this report.

Note

LDS displays an asterisk following any departmental rates that vary from the MIT standard rate.

5. Click on the Back button button three times to return to the LDS main screen.

Inflation rate report field descriptions
The fields in the "Display Inflation Rates: Department XXXXXXX" are identical whether you click the Inflation Rate button or the Compare Std Rte button, except that the comparison screen includes a column that specifies Std. Rate(Standard Rate) in front of the Dept. Rate column. Shown below are descriptions of the fields.

The information in the header is self-explanatory.

Field Name

What to Enter

Calendar Year

Indicates to what year the inflation rate is applied.

Payroll Category

The four-digit numeric code that identifies the Payroll Category that applies to each line.

Description

The full text name of the Payroll Category.

Dept. Rate

Department inflation rate (if any) that applies to the displayed individual Payroll Category in a particular calendar year. Otherwise <None> is displayed.

Note

All fields in this report are identical to the fields described above except the Std. Rate field. The report includes all Payroll Categories.

Change Department Inflation Rates Table

To change the departmental inflation rate table, use the following path:

Change department inflation rates table
You can change a few rates at a time, delete a record entirely, or implement a mass change of all the inflation rates within your organization. Use the following navigation path or type the transaction code from any screen in SAP:

- Change

/nzlt1

1. Enter your LDS organization number and click on the Enter button button to access the "Maintain Inflation Rates: Department 7xxxxxxx" screen.

Note

Rate fields are not grayed out, indicating that this information can be changed. Go to step 2 to make a few changes. Go to step 4 if you want to make multiple changes.

Change or delete one or two records
2. If you are making a few changes:

(a) To change an inflation rate value, click once in the Rate field of the record you want to change and enter the change.

(b) To delete a record, click once anywhere on the line of the record you want to delete. Then click the Delete Record button. An information box appears confirming the deletion.

3. Click on the Save button button to complete this process.

Make multiple changes
4. Click on the Mult. Records button to access the "Mass Create/Change" dialog box. This allows you to customize the information you want to access for changes.

What to Enter

Payroll Category

Leave the default field entries unchanged if you want to see all the Payroll categories. However, you can overwrite the entries and set your own range of Payroll Categories to be displayed.

Calendar Year

Enter the desired 4-digit calendar year(s).

Inflation Rates

Enter the new inflation rate for the selected records. (If you leave this field blank, the system will create blank entries for those records. You can then easily see the fields, click in them, and enter the data. This can be a convenient tool if you are entering several different rates for different categories or years.)

5. Click on the Continue button and a dialog box appears reporting how many records were updated.

6. Click on the Enter button button to display the list of categories with an updated inflation rate.

7. Click on the Save button button to save the changes. A dialog box appears, confirming that the updated records were saved.

8. Click on the Enter button button to return to the "Maintain Inflation Rates" screen.

9. Click on the Back button button twice to return to the LDS Main screen:

(a) Or click on the Inflation Rates button.

(b) Or the Compare Std Rte button to generate a report of the changes.

(c) From the report screen, you can print the updated information by clicking on the Print button button .
