Overview
You can create a list of "favorites"; frequently used transactions, files, and Web addresses on the SAP User Menu screen. The favorites are a shortcut to using the transaction. Instead of searching for the transaction in folders or remembering and typing in the transaction code, just double-click on an item in the Favorites folder.

Creating a Favorite
Add a Transaction from the Menu folder:

1. Click on the down arrows to the left of the folders until you reach the transaction such as Create a Parked JV.

2. Click on the transaction.

3. Click on the Add to Favorites button Add to Favorites button or follow the menu path: Favorites >> Add.

Result: The transaction appears underneath the Favorites folder.

 

Add a Transaction Code:

1. Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Insert transaction.

2. Type in the transaction code; for example zstm for the Summary Statement.

3. Click the Enter button Enter button .

Result: The transaction appears underneath the Favorites folder and is labelled with the transaction name.

 

Add a Web Address:

1. Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Add other objects.

2. Select Web address or file.

3. Click the Enter button Enter button.

4. Type in a title for the file or Web address favorite.

5. Type in the Web address or file name. Use the full URL beginning with http://. . .

6. Click the Enter button Enter button.

Note

You can only include a Web address or file if you can access local files from your Web browser.

Result: The Web address or file favorite is at the end of the list under the Favorites folder and is labelled with the name that you typed in.

 

Renaming a Favorite

1. Click once on the favorite to select it.

2. Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Change or click the Change Favorites button Change favorites button.

3. As the default, the favorite name contains the navigation path and the transaction name. To rename the favorite, delete the navigation path from the name and keep the transaction name as close to the original name as possible.

For example, if you created a favorite for Create a Requisition, the favorite's name would be Role ZMIT->Purchasing->Requisitions->Create a Requisition. To rename it, shorten the name to Create a Requisition.

4. Click the Enter button Enter button.

Result: The newly named transaction appears in your Favorites folder.

Note

If you have "Display Technical Names" selected on Extras >> Settings, the transaction code will still display in the favorite's name even though you renamed it.

Organizing Favorites into Folders

You can organize your favorites into categories such as SAP reports. First create a Favorites folders and then add or move individual favorites into it.

On a PC:

Create a folder

1. Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Insert Folder.
2. Type in a folder name ("Reports" for example) and click the Enter button Enter button .

Result: The new folder appears below the Favorites folder.

Add the favorites

You can drag and drop each favorite into the new folder.

On a Mac:

Create a folder

1. Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Insert Folder.
2. Type in a folder name ("Reports" for example) and click the Enter button Enter button .

Result: The new folder appears below the Favorites folder.

Add the favorites

You cannot drag and drop favorites on a Mac. First select the new folder and then create the favorite by using the menu path Favorites >> Insert transaction. This procedure is described below.

1. Click once on the folder you just created within the Favorites folder. This selects the folder.

2. Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Insert transaction.

3. Enter the transaction code of the favorite you want to create (for example, zstm for the Summary Statement).

Result: The new favorite is created within the Reports folder. The name of the favorite is the transaction code and the name of the transaction (for example, "ZSTM - Statement").

Maintaining Favorites and Folders

You can move, rename or delete favorites or Favorites folders. Use the menu path or Toolbar buttons described below to perform these tasks.

Create a Favorites folder

Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Insert Folder.

 

Move the Favorites folder to the bottom of the list of folders

Follow the menu path: Extras >> Settings. Select Display favorites at end of list.


Move a favorite within a list of favorites

1. Select the favorite.
2. Click the Down Down button or Up Up button buttons.


Move a Favorites folder within a list of Favorites folders

1. Select the Favorites folder.
2. Click the Down Down button or Up Up button buttons.

 

Rename a favorite

Rename a Favorites folder

1. Select the Favorites folder.
2. Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Change or click the Change Favorites button Change favorites button .
3. Type in the new name and press the Enter button Enter button.


Delete a favorite or Favorites folder

1. Select the favorite or Favorites folder.
2. Follow the menu path: Favorites >> Delete or click the Delete Favorites button Delete Favorites button.
