Good Business Practices

Good business practices are an essential component for every student group. The advice provided is intended to assist students handling group finances. Recommendations focus on financial security; provide practical advice on services and applications as well as information about policies and guidelines.

 

Discussion

The Student Activities Finance Office (SAFO) is a valuable resource as you plan budgets, solicit funding, process payments and reimbursements, and generally complete your group’s day-to-day financial business.

Recommendations are intended to assist groups in creating financial management practices which will provide better control and accountability for student group funds. It is always best to consult, in advance, with MIT staff members regarding your questions and concerns.
