For Faculty Supervisors: The Randolph G. Wei UROP Award

The Randolph G. Wei UROP Award Committee presents the award each spring to the undergraduate who has made the most outstanding contribution in undergraduate research at the interface of the life sciences and engineering. The recipient is awarded a cash gift, certificate, and invited to a luncheon hosted by the Wei Award Committee in his/her honor.

The award was established in October 1986 in memory of Randolph G. Wei, a member of the MIT Class of 1987, who majored in biology and chemical engineering and was an active UROP participant.

Qualifying for the Award

Faculty may nominate any student who has done outstanding research in the aforementioned areas. The student's work may have been conducted at any time between the Spring 2013 term to present.

Submit a letter of nomination via the webform below along with evidence of research excellence (i.e. student-authored paper, journal publication, etc.) to the Committee c/o the UROP staff in 7-104 or urop@mit.edu by the nomination deadline.
