Course Work System Account Request Form

To request access to one of the ACS Course Work systems please fill in the information below. These machines are dedicated for the use of TAs and faculty to do work related to the maintenance of course lockers or course software. They are not intended for use as general purpose systems; for work not related to courses, please use the general remote access mechanisms). Also note that access to these machines is not necessary if you are simply maintaining web pages in course lockers (to transfer files, just use ftp.dialup.mit.edu as explained in our Web Guide).

The following restrictions apply:

• We request that you only do course-related work and minimize the time you spend on the workstation - it is a shared resource.
• As much as possible, do compute-intensive work elsewhere. If you do need to do CPU-intensive work on these shared machines, we expect it to be for a short time. For example, compiling a program is acceptable, but repeated compiling and debugging should be done elsewhere.
• We will clean out the password files at the end of the spring and fall semesters. Each person will have to re-apply for continued access.
