MIT's New Media Centers and Application of "New Media" in the Curriculum
Wednesday, September 3
2:00 pm to 4:00 PM
N42 Demo Center

One year ago, MIT joined the New Media Centers consortium. Since then, we've set up two IS-sponsored facilities, and have assisted in the creation of two additional departmental multimedia labs (in Foreign Languages and the Edgerton Center). The newest facility is the classroom in 26-139, which is celebrating its grand opening this month. This room contains 13 Macintosh G3 machines and is equipped with video digitizing, color scanning, and audiovisual projection systems.

Join us for a Crosstalk discussion about multimedia use at MIT—its impact on the curriculum, the implications for support and delivery of "new-media" educational services, and what the NMC consortium means to us. Afterwards we'll take a field trip to the new classroom to try out some of the applications.
