- MSI Information
- Repackaged from MIT Volume License Media using InstallShield AdminStudio.
- Due to program size it was split into three separate msi's using the snapshot feature. On the build machine I first captured and saved matlab base + simulink base, then captured and saved the matlab compiler, and finally captured and saved all the toolboxes.
- The documents are now stored locally (as opposed to v6.5) as they removed
the ability to store them in a network share with the HelpDocRoot and HelpLocalDirectory
settings in matlab.prf.
- The installer was built from the Athena license file so only those toolboxes
covered under our license are part of the MSI. If you do not have a license
for these toolboxes they will not run and if you need others they will have
to be installed via scripts or via a modification of this MSI.
- The programs that are part of the Athena license are as follows:
- matlab, simulink, matlab compiler, signl processing blockset, simulink
fixed point, simulink control design
- toolboxes: curve fitting, communications, control system, signal processing,
fuzzy logic, system identification, image processing, LMI control, mu-analysis
and synthesis, neural network, optimization, partial differential equation,
fixed-point, robust control, signal processing, symbolic math, splin,
statistics, wavelet
- Configuration Issues
- You *must* purchase your own flexlm license from the
MIT volume license office in order to use this product. While it installs
with the license file pointing to one of our Athena license servers, you
cannot use this file. After purchasing your license file, if running your
own flexlm license server is not a possiblity, we can discuss hosting your
license file on one of our servers.
- Logon/Logoff Scripts (set within group policy for your container)
- These are required due to a problem with the way that Matlab saves its
user preferences files. Basically they copy the pref files from the Matlab
location on C to H when the user logs off and from H to C when they login.
- \\win.mit.edu\dfs\MSI\ACST\scripts\matlab_r14_setup_prefs\loadmatlabpref.bat
- \\win.mit.edu\dfs\MSI\ACST\scripts\matlab_r14_setup_prefs\savematlabpref.bat
- Known Bugs
- Installations
- Source: dfs\MSI\ACST\mathworks_matlab_r14sp2\
- upgraded to sp2 08.19.05 - if you have already deployed r14 initial release or sp1 you must remove that version from your group policy and then add the following three msi's.
- mathworks_matlab_r14_sp2_base.msi
- mathworks_matlab_r14_sp2_compiler.msi
- mathworks_matlab_r14_sp2_toolboxes.msi
- License: Purchase your own flexlm license from MIT Volume Licensing
