Definition of Pismere

Pismere means centrally manages, serially reusable, dataless workstations (as opposed to private workstations). Pismere is analogous to Athena but it is NOT Athena NT.

Pismere has an academic focus, although it also has administrative implications. Pismere aims for minimal changes to client machines, with major changes to servers.
