ACS AV Utility Closet

E40-358 is equipped with a utility closet containing many audio and
video accessories. Here's what we have, and where it lives, shelf
by shelf.

Shelf 1

Flat head and Phillips screwdrivers, small extron screwdrivers,
power cords

Adaptors and Extension cables for the InFocus WS7600 Projector
(mac, pc/vga, DECstation, SPARCstation) are on this shelf. Each
adaptor and extension cable is tagged to identify the platform
it supports, and where it needs to connect.

An additional video cable with bnc adaptor is on the first shelf.
Use it when there is a class in 1-115 that requires vcr connection to the
Barco.

Shelf 2

InFocus WS7600 projector, in soft case
ProPresenter remote control
Laser pointer
Two Barco 800 RCU's
tub of video cable adaptors

The InFocus WS7600 is stored in a soft, padded travel case. It
is relatively easy to carry. Be sure to remember to pack the
appropriate adaptor cables.

The ProPresenter, a credit-card sized remote control unit that allows
you to control presentation software on the Mac, is stored in its
eponymous nylon sack.

The laser pointer is stored in a clear-lidded plastic case.

The two Barco RCU's serve as back-up remotes for the electronic
classrooms. These remotes also allow for projector reconvergence.

Shelf 3

Kodak Slide projector, 2 empty slide carousels, Shure wireless
microphone unit (in pouch)

The wireless microphone has two components - the receiver and
the small transmitter. The transmitter can be clipped to your
waistband or fit into your hip pocket. The microphone has a small clip
and functions best when positioned on a lapel, mic up and pointed toward
your mouth.

The receiver must be turned on and both switches on the transmitter,
for power and mic, must be on as well. In the pouch you'll also find
a tiny screwdriver. One can make adjustments in sound quality by inserting
and turning the screwdriver in the recessed white receptor located near the
mic jack.

Shelves 4 and 5 hold miscellaneous surplus equipment.

Inside the cabinet is this list, plus the list of electronic classrooms,
their combinations and phone numbers.
