Phase 1C. Investigation of Best Practices-Ball State University

URL: http://www.bsu.edu/UP/cover.html

Reported by: Mary Enterline November 29, 2001

Ball State University is not a model for general academic information.

Homepage: Like all the sites I looked at, the homepage offered links to pages for different audiences including prospective students, current students, faculty and staff. However, on those sites information is not comprehensive or integrated.

Advising Information: From the current student site, the link for academic information went to a page on Academic Colleges. A link for advising, led to the University College (offering services like our Academic Resource Center), from there the link on advising goes to only a list of the advisors. Ball State does have on-line an automated course transfer system and an audit system, but I couldn't access them.
