    2. Anything draggling, or hanging loosely and untidily. Sc.

    Hence {sm}trollop v., intr. (a) (Sc.), to hang loosely and untidily,
to draggle; (b) (colloq.), to act or dress like a trollop, to be
slovenly; spec. to walk in a slovenly way, to slouch; {dag}trollo{sm}pee,
name for a loose dress worn by women in the 18th century; {sm}trolloping,
{sm}trollopish, {sm}trollopy adjs., like or characteristic of a trollop,
ungainly, slovenly.
