Date: Sun, 19 Sep 1999 15:57:13 -0400 From: Tanya Burka To: advise-feedback@mit.edu Subject: The residence foxtrot I had planned on living at Bexley Hall, but after two days of Rush, I knew that I wanted to live in Senior Haus. I felt that I had found a comfortable environment in which to work, tool, relax, or party. I can't imagine living anywhere else. In taking away freshman Rush, the RSSC denies freshman students the opportunity to choose for themselves not only where they live, but who they are and want to be. All the dorms and FSILG's have a character which fits a particular person and brand of thinking. It can't be quantized by statistics on paper of even by descriptions from residents. It's life. Let the freshman experience it. That's what "reducing stress" is all about. Tanya Burka, class of 2003 414A-1 Senior Haus
