Welcome to AeroAstro’s new digital newsletter, a pathway to news about our research, activities, and people. I invite you to follow the links to learn about our pursuits in areas as diverse as long duration drone flight, complex computer environmental modeling, and asteroid exploration mission design.
I particularly draw your attention to the article about the completion of our Building 31 $52 million renovation. We’ve turned an outmoded 1920s rabbit warren into a state-of-the art center for cutting-edge autonomous systems and gas turbine research. It includes 4200 sq. ft. for our Beaver Works joint program with Lincoln Lab, and a 3200 sq. ft. space for flying autonomous systems. Indeed, this project represents a complete rehabilitation of more than 50 percent of our research space.
AeroAstro comprises a uniquely talented community with a deeply-embedded culture of fostering collaborations. These enable us to address the most daunting (and fascinating!) aerospace engineering challenges. Please contact us to share your thoughts and ideas. As always, we want to hear from you.
