Summer UROP: Development of Tabletop and Handheld User Interfaces,
and
Simulation of Search and Rescue
We are investigating mechanisms for synchronous collaboration between
tabletop and handheld devices, for coordinating members of a distributed
team. We require a student to develop software for providing novel
interfaces on these devices. The student will also help to develop
our
simulation of an urban search and rescue scenario (essentially a
3D
game) to test the system with users. Programming experience with
Java is
essential. Experience with multithreading, communications (sockets
and
RMI), Java2D, Javascript, and C# will be beneficial. Development
experience with Eclipse, SVN, and JUnit will also be useful.
