Statement of Purpose
The goal of this one-day workshop is to explore research avenues for improving
support to human supervisory control via human-centered processes. Submitted
papers will form the basis for an interactive discussion focused on delineating
a taxonomy of Human Supervisory Control issues, possible solution frameworks
and metrics to assess the success of the said frameworks. Depending on the
participants’ interests, specific topics we might address are:
- Cognition-based approaches for awareness and decision support
- Context awareness and the effects on learning, reasoning and decision
making in both humans and software agents
- The interaction and socially inspired process models for such collaborating
systems and techniques to support them
- The design, building and testing of such systems, including design patterns,
methods and tools
- Situation awareness needs for HSC of safety-critical systems
- Cognitive engineering and design approaches for HSC
- Context management in human centered processes
- Knowledge discovery and data visualization
- Processes for taking into account human abilities/skills in HSC
- Case-based supervised cross learning
- Multi-agent distributed decision making
