Lt Col Timothy A. Slauenwhite

Lieutenant Colonel Timothy A. Slauenwhite is currently the Commander of Detachment 365, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and the Professor of Aerospace Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Slauenwhite was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force Reserve in 1987 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. After attending Undergraduate Space Training, he was assigned to the 19 th Surveillance Squadron, Pirinclik Air Station, Turkey, where he served as a Crew Commander and as the Chief of Standardization and Evaluation. In 1989, he was assigned to the Space Control Center, Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, Colorado, where he served as an orbital analyst, Deputy Crew Commander and the Chief Launch Officer for US Space Command. During this time, he earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado. After attending Squadron Officers' School in 1993, he was assigned to the 30 th Range Squadron, Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, where he served as a Range Control Officer, Range Operations Commander and Flight Commander. In 1997, he was assigned to the Space Support Division, Directorate of Operations, HQ Air Force Space Command, where he served as the Chief of Spacelift Operations Concepts and Range Operations. In 1999 he was selected to attend Canadian Forces College and to serve as the space exchange officer to the Director of Space Development, Department of National Defence, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. In 2002 he was reassigned to Detachment 4, Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado where he served as the Space Based Radar Test Director and Director of Operations. While assigned to Detachment 4, he completed Air War College via seminar. In July 2005, he became the Commander of Detachment 365, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Cambridge , Massachusetts .
