The two-day international conference
will include industry strategists
and academic researchers examining
longevity risk and the variety of
instruments that may be needed by
pension funds and insurance companies
to manage this risk. MIT Mitsui
Professor of Economics and President
of the National Bureau of Economic
Research James Poterba will serve
as the opening plenary speaker presenting
"Defined Contribution Plans,
Mortality Risk, and the Demand for
Annuities." Among the strategies
to be considered by both private
and public organizations is a longer
worklife. AgeLab's Joe Coughlin
will serve as a plenary speaker
presenting: "Retiring Retirement:
Implications of Longer Worklife
on Work, Pensions & Capital
Markets."
