Research Interests
James Kuchar's research focuses on formal methods to design and evaluate decision aiding and alerting systems in time- and safety-critical applications. A particular interest is understanding the interrelationships between uncertainties in human behavior (due to age or other factors), sensors, algorithms, displays, and overall system performance. Dr. Kuchar earned a SB from MIT in 1990, a SM from MIT in 1991, and a Ph.D. from MIT in 1995. He joined Lincoln Laboratory after serving on the faculty in the MIT Aeronautics Department from 1995-2003. |
