Technology for Adaptive Aging

Richard W. Pew and Susan B. Van Hemel, Editors, Steering Committee for the Workshop on Technology for Adaptive Aging, National Research Council

Thomas B. Sheridan, Ford Professor of Engineering and Applied Psychology Emeritus, Joachim Meyer, Research Scientist, and Joseph Coughlin, Director, contributed to the National Academy of Sciences book, Technology for Adaptive Aging. This book is the product of the National Academy of Sciences workshop on technology for adaptive aging, which featured a group of notable experts in aging and technology research.

Thomas Sheridan and Joseph Coughlin both contributed as members of the Steering Committee. In collaboration with Brian Ripa, General Motors and the late Patricia Waller, Joachim Meyer authored the chapter on transportation.

Technology for Adaptive Aging outlines how technology can apply to communication, transportation, health, employment, learning, and living environments for older adults.
