Prof. Alexandra H. Techet
Prof. Alexandra (Alex) Techet is currently an Professor of Mechanical and Ocean Engineering, in the Mechanical Engineering department. The goal of her research is to address long-standing hydrodynamics problems faced by the U. S. Navy and the ocean science and engineering communities through rigorous experimental investigation and 3D imaging. Professor Techet was a recipient of the 2004 ONR Young Investigators Award. Her imaging work has been recognized several times by the APS Gallery of Fluid Motion and has been featured on the cover of the Journal of Fluid Mechanics.
Alex is an avid SCUBA diver, sailor, and boater. In 2010, Alex upgraded from a US Coast Guard OUPV Six-pack license to a 50 Ton Masters (Near Coastal) License.
