The MIT Aikido Club - Class Schedule and Information.
You are welcome to come by any time to check out the club, either to watch if you don't know what Aikido is about, or to join the practice if you already know that Aikido is what you want to do. Beginners are always welcome! No previous experience is required; all that we ask for is a sincere desire to learn since it does require the club's effort to train a person.
Beginners are encouraged to attend class at least two to three times per week in order achieve some progress. A good place to start is with our PE Class. Please check with the Department of Athletics for when the PE class is offered.
The club is open to anyone in the MIT community, officially requiring an athletic card to enter the gym building. We welcome non-community visitors to our practice as well. A day pass is currently required of visiting non-members to gain access. A day pass costs for $8 (students) and $15 (non-students) and can be purchased at the main desk in the Zesiger Center. If you are not familiar with the campus, the duPont Athletic Center is on the corner of Mass. Ave and Vassar St (same building as Campus Police). The main lobby/entrance is on the far corner of the building away from that road intersection, and past the MIT Student Center. See our directions page for more information on how to get to the dojo.
