THE IDEA

AMASS is an interdisciplinary lecture series for the local atomistic community. AMASS is aimed at overcoming geographical, departmental, and subject barriers that artificially separate modelers with common interests. Seminars provides an opportunity to learn about each other's research, create personal relationships, establish collaborations, and build a more cohesive atomistic modeling community. Seminars are informal and discussion oriented, to help people learn and share interests in a friendly environment

TOPICS

Seminars focus on atomistic modeling but have a wide range, from energy models to statistical methods, from ceramics to biological systems. Talks are given by advanced students, postdocs and professors who make every effort to represent their ideas to an audience with varied backgrounds.

SCHEDULE

Talks are scheduled throughout the semester, usually during lunch. Food is provided. Location is on the MIT campus, but the specific room varies.

Everyone is welcome, from any department or university, so please come join us. We already have participants from MIT and Harvard, and departments such materials science, chemical engineering, biology, nuclear engineering, physics, and applied mathematics. To join our email list please contact us.
