I am a research scientist in the Man-Vehicle Laboratory which is part of both the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Kavli Institute for Astrophysics and Space Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I am currently working on research projects investigating (1) the role of spatial ability in teleoperation and training, (2) the effects of fatigue and circadian disruptions on cognitive performance and complex skills, and (3) the issue of fatigue in locomotive engineers and the design of alerting systems. My research interests include telerobotics, human-machine interaction, human spatial ability and navigation, eye movements, and human modeling.
