Welcome! I'm a Project Scientist in the Man-Vehicle Laboratory (MVL) at the MIT Center for Space Research. I am working with Dr. Charles Oman to develop a set of experiments studying human orientation in 0-g environments on long- duration spaceflight astronauts. The experiments are targeted to fly on the Increment 7 shuttle mission to the International Space Station in January 2003 (barring any more schedule slips). My primary responsibilities are to develop the science software and oversee the hardware development, which will also occur at the CSR.

I am involved with two other MVL grants (one from NASA and the other from the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI)) to study human 3D spatial memory and navigation. I am working with Dr. Oman and two Course 16 master's students, Berengere Houdou and Jessica Marquez, who are developing the experiments.

I am also a visiting scientist at Nissan Cambridge Basic Research where I was a staff scientist from 1993-9. I am collaborating with Dario Salvucci on the Smart Car project where we will be modelling driver eye and head movements to perform recogntion or prediction of upcoming driver actions.
