Accomplished Thursday night: - Rear bumper removed (at last!) - 4 of 10 body-to-frame bolts removed (previous count of 12 was incorrect) Observations: - Steve and I could have used a little company tonight - Working in the rain sucks - Many of the captive nuts used in inaccessible locations are no longer captive. This presents a huge problem for disassembly since everything just spins. - The second bolts from the front on both sides (rear of engine compartment) will probably have to answer to the oxy-acetylene torch. - The second bolts from the rear on both sides are located behind the rear tires. They may require us to jack up the back of the car and/or cut the exhaust pipe after the muffler. THERE WILL BE NO OFFICIAL WORK SESSION ON FRIDAY But don't let that stop you from dropping by and taking those bolts out. Projects coming up: - Finish bolt removal - Remove doors - Body lift (Saturday?) TENTATIVE PLAN: A guy will come by with a flatbed tow truck Saturday afternoon (time TBD; between 1200 and 1730) to remove the entire rolling chassis with engine and transmission attached. THEREFORE: We will not need the engine hoist. We will not need to arrange for disposal of the frame. We will not need to store the frame for more than a couple of hours. We will need to execute the lift around lunchtime Saturday. PROBABILITY OF THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING: Approx. 90% Details forthcoming
