Tuesday plans: - Car trip to Brookline to pick up remaining tools, seats, fasteners, etc. (Steve, Scott?) - Design, measurement, and drawings for floatation system - Get hooked up with 240V again - Reattach front end and block it up with correct alignment. - Weld front diagonal runners Meet at the new SOUTHIE SITE - 8 PM Accomplished Tuesday: - Delivered 80% of materials and tools from Brookline to Southie - Operation Interphase II executed successfully - Grinding to prep patch areas: firewall, floor, crusty front wings - Welding of rear body seam (75% complete) Notes: - Attachment of front body section and pontoon runners put off until firewall patching is complete and Vinnie-cut(tm) radiator section is reattached. - Lesson learned: long body lap joints need to be stitch-welded. Heat stress from one long pass causes unwelded areas ahead of gun to buckle. - Needed from Brookline: 100' extension cord, box of precut patches, remaining seat, and whatever else is left. - Needed from Cruftlabs or elsewhere: fans (box or otherwise), raw sheet steel, oxy-acetylene welding rig, brazing rods - Check on supply of welding wire tonight. - I'll try to run remainder of propulsion calculations today. Wednesday plans: - Manned Mission to Mar's (for science!) - Reattach radiator stiffening section - Install firewall patches (maybe try brazing?) - Install, block up body front - Attach front diagonal runners - Finish welding transverse body lap joints WEDNESDAY NIGHT - SOUTHIE - 8 PM We can do another group cycling trip if folks are interested. It's a pleasant ride.
