PLEASE START SHOWING UP! 8 PM TONIGHT Accomplished Thursday: - Materials scavenger hunt: sheet steel, oil drums, water cooler bottles acquired (but no 2-liter bottles!) - Oil drums emptied - Water cooler bottles sealed - Nearly completed firewall patching and transverse body seam welding - Reattached flimsy front of car Friday plans: - Finish firewall welding - Attach front pontoon runners - Weld longitudinal sill-to-body bottom seams (!) - Braze front seat studs and cut at proper length - Cut a lot of material: * Door-firewall patches * Pontoon cladding (with notchwork as required) * Big panel to seal behind rear seat (heavier gauge material) - Finish brazing doors watertight. Grind. - Check fit of doors on body: * Make required brackets * Cut openings for steering cable conduit (esp. center column) - Devise, implement mounting scheme for oil drums in engine compartment and below rear wheel wells Major Saturday projects: - Morning trip for materials for covering seats and dashboard top - Attach front steering mechanisms, seal steering box - Attach pontoon cladding - Attach doors - Cut off roof - Watertightness test (fill from inside) - Build steering/propulsion systems Major Sunday projects: - Finish steering/propulsion systems - Foaming - Outer wing attachment - Install final interior work - Electrical - Sealing/painting as needed PLEASE SHOW UP...
