Welcome
to AMSA
2007 Annual MIT Bone Marrow Drive!
Come join us on April 17, 2007 to donate a small sample of blood or have your cheek swabbed. Your samples will be HLA-typed and entered into the national registry. If you are a match, you will be contacted by the National Marrow Donor Program for further testing, information, and permission. There is NO OBLIGATION to donate.
This is the first step to potentially saving a life! A marrow or blood cell transplant is a potentially life-saving treatment for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood diseases. A transplant replaces a patient's unhealthy blood cells with healthy blood-forming cells from a volunteer donor.
For more information, visit the MIT Bone Marrow website!
New Premed Guide out this April!
We are almost done updating the premed guide, so look for the 2007 edition of the guide when it comes out in April before CPW! If you would like, you can download the 2004 edition of the premed guide (pdf) or go to the MIT Careers Office to pick up a bound copy.
Welcome!
Check out the new 2006-2007 Executive Committee, with our newly joined Officers-at-Large!
What is AMSA?
AMSA is a national association of medical and premedical students. At MIT, AMSA consists of the premedical community. We hold forums and bring speakers to allow students to better understand what the medical field is all about. We also participate in service projects related to medicine. To learn more, come to an AMSA event or email amsa-exec@mit.edu.
