Library Information and Rules
While we try to showcase the best of anime in our weekly screenings,
there's a lot more good stuff out there than we can possibly show.
Therefore, we also maintain a large collection of anime in our circulating
library: members in good standing with a security deposit on file can check
out tapes and discs to watch on their own time and according to their own
tastes.

NOTE: In order to streamline our showings, we will not be accepting
last-minute library requests at the beginning of the evening. You
must put in your request by email ahead of time (no later than 5pm on
the night of the showing) or in writing at the previous week's
showing.
To accommodate people who can't make it to showings regularly, we will be
holding office hours. Feel free to drop by our room in Walker, 50-356, to
return or check out tapes at the times listed above. We're not really set
up for browsing, though, so checking the catalogs ahead of time is a good
idea.
Library Checkout Policies (Updated September 19, 2007)
- You may check out items if you are a current member of the club and have
a $10 refundable security deposit on file.
- You may borrow up to: three subtitled tapes, three CD-ROMs, two
unsubtitled tapes, two DVDs, two audio CDs, one audio cassette, and two
miscellaneous items. This is the maximum number of items you may have
checked out at any given time, rather than the number you may check out
every week.
- Items are due back in 18 days (two and a half weeks).
A $1 late fee is charged per item per week or fraction thereof over that
limit. You may turn them in early if you wish in order to check out new
material. You will not be allowed to check out additional items if you have
overdue items checked out.
- If you lose, break, scratch, demagnetize, or otherwise render a title
uncirculatable, you will be held responsible for the replacement
cost of the title.
- For checkouts at showings, items are handed out during
intermissions. You must be present to claim them.
If possible, please return items at the beginning of the
evening to allow us to give them to someone else at the intermission.
- To request items to pick up at showings, please e-mail the librarian at
at least one day before the showing.
- You should request more items than you expect to get, and
even more if you are requesting popular series. List them in priority order,
and we will do our best to give you the highest-ranking titles that aren't
in conflict with other people's requests.
- By default, we won't give you things out of order. (That is, if you
request Evangelion volumes 1, 2, and 3, you'll get 1, or 1 and 2, or 1 and
2 and 3, but never just 3 by itself.) If you would rather get any ones you
can without regard to order, make a note in your request.
- Use the item ID numbers in your request, and please don't bother
requesting things that don't appear on the lists: if it isn't there, it
simply isn't available this week.
- You don't need to send in a request if you come to office hours to check
out anime. It's a good idea to bring your list with you, though, since
it will help you make your selections more quickly.
